FIRST VIOLIN
Hsiao-Ching Cho
Hsiao-Ching Cho holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Fu Jen Catholic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Music from National Taiwan Normal University. She joined the National Symphony Orchestra as a first violinist in 1997. In 1995, she served as concertmaster for the Chung Cheng High School Orchestra during a tour in Australia. From 1992 to 1995, she was the first violinist for the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, and from 1995 to 1997, she held the same position with the Taipei Chamber Orchestra and the Taiwan Chamber Orchestra. In 1998, she won first prize in a music competition in Germany and was featured in Suedkurier. She received a full scholarship to a music festival in Austria in 1999 and performed with the In Chi String Quartet in 2002, advancing to the semifinals of the Hungarian Violin Competition. She studied under notable professors and attended masterclasses with renowned musicians.
