Joanne Tseng studied at the Colburn School under Martin Beaver on a full scholarship and earned her undergraduate degree from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory under Qian Zhou.

She won first prize in the Yong Siew Toh Concerto Competition and the highest honor at the 2020 Singapore Violin Festival Competition. She has performed across Taiwan, China, Singapore, Japan, Austria and Australia, appearing at Mozarteum, Keshet Eilon, and the New York String Orchestra Seminar.

She has collaborated with pianist Fabio Bidini and cellist Clive Greensmith and performed Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto with the Shanghai Philharmonic in 2023. From 2022 to 2025, she was a second violinist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, also serving as acting principal second/associate principal second. In March 2025, she joined the National Symphony Orchestra.
