INFO
Schumann's Manfred, a dramatic work inspired by Lord Byron's eponymous poem, is best known for its stirring overture. In it, Schumann vividly portrays the tragic character and fateful struggles of the protagonist through rich orchestral colors and intricate textures. Meanwhile, his Symphony No. 4, one of his most frequently performed symphonies, unfolds in four uninterrupted movements, infused with imagination and boundless Romantic passion. Under the sensitive baton of German conductor Michael Sanderling, audiences are invited to connect deeply with Schumann's inner world.
Composed in the aftermath of World War I, Elgar's Cello Concerto carries the solemnity of a requiem, yet beneath its reflective surface lies a profound meditation on life itself. The work is at once sweeping and introspective, leaving listeners both moved and contemplative.
Renowned French cellist Camille Thomas, laureate of multiple international competitions, brings her heartfelt artistry to this performance, offering an interpretation of exquisite depth and emotional resonance.
